Title: FOB
Post by: O.C. on February 07, 2016, 12:03:41 PM
Has anyone got a good way of attaching the FOB to a key ring/lanyard or do you keep yours in your pocket, I have had spare keys cut for fuel tank and pannier access

The small loop hole isn't any use for attaching the Fob to a key ring ...any thoughts or suggestions ?

When I picked mine up it had a thin cable tie through it with a keyring attatched which you can then hang on a lanyard. I changed  that for a thinner keyring which does pass through the hole. I have done the same to the blood bike one. I do have a spare if you pm an address I'll stick it in the post for you.

In a waterproof bag in your pocket, then forget it until it says low battery.

Thanks all, I always used to leave it in my jacket pocket , but that's a bit of a pain when my jacket is upstairs and I'm down, whereas if it was attached to the lanyard it would be more accessible

moayling thanks for the offer I'll try and find a small enough key ring, if not I will let you know..thanks again :azn:

Mine is attached via a small key ring clip that attaches to a chain that is attached to my belt loop.  It never comes out of my pocket, so unless I decide to go riding naked, I'm not losing it.  Had a key made to open up everything else that requires a key.  Also don't take the stove key out of the ignition.

When I had the GTR, I used (and still do) a leather key fob with a zipped pocket on the side. The pocket was where I held the key fob, with keys for the Top Box and Disc Lock on the key ring itself.

I'm now thinking that I can attach it to my lanyard with some strong thin cord or maybe picture hanging wire

the plastic breaking and susequent fob loss was the thing that was worrying me, TBH its a bit of a weak arrangement, IMHO if KHI had made the fob more like my car one with a proper metal attachment it would be much better

Having said that, I've never lost a fob before. .......lets hope I dont regret saying that   :sweatdrop:
