So who is the best motorcycle racer. Is it Hailwood, Agostini or Rossi? Or perhaps somebody else. What do you think?
Barry Sheene
surely the bravest was Joey Dunlop , he was the king of the TT . the TT circuit was dropped by GP as being too dangerous to race and then became a stand alone event .

Its a tough question, should it be Joey, maybe Ago, or perhaps Rossi who is nicknamed the G.O.A.T (greatest of all time), what about Bayliss who won the WSBK championship and the following weekend went on to run rings round the MotoGP regulars
For me you can't overlook John Surtees the only world champion on two and four wheels....but......
I think it must be Mike the bike Hailwood
Any body remember Jarno Saarinen. He was great.
Eddie Lawson or Wayne Rainey
Phil Read has to be up there also?
There is no "one", but there are those that are the top of the game in an era who we fondly remember.
Why not add the three-wheelers in the mix - the insane ones! - Steve Webster - one of the most successful ever!
God point,
I reckon Eddie The Eagle could have had them all if he'd mounted a bike rather than donning a pair of ski's!
Lol
Joey. On shoestring budgets he humiliated the worlds best on the most difficult and dangerous tracks.
Rossi would be my 2nd choice and Randy Mamola 3rd.
Mamola? Excellent choice - forgot about him. Greatest world champion that never won it.
Don't forget Wayne Gardner too
Best race ever was WSB at Donnington in 2000.
Stalker and Hodgy were wild card riders from BSB and they utterly destroyed the competition before going on to a ding-dong battle for several laps swapping the lead several times per lap and drifting the bikes into and sometimes through the corners.
Hodgy won it, but it was close.
There's Fast Freddie Spencer too!

But what about Shakey Byrne at Brands Hatch World Superbikes as a wildcard ? That was a triumph of will over ability and equipment. He beat the best riders on the best bikes cos he believed he could
Coman
They're all good, but I'm leaning for Rossi.
Mick Doohan :punk: He might have stayed with Honda his whole GP carreer but I agree with him about his doubters - why should I have moved teams to prove myself, I developed the NSR into what it became and ultimately tamed the beast, why should I let another rider have those benefits ? " He had other riders mentally beat before the lights went green, Rossi would never have physched him out.
Barry Sheene, he may have only won two world titles but he was the first rider to truly know how to play the media, he was at the forefront of safety innovations at circuits and was also a leading innovator of knee sliders and back protectors.
Aarron Slight, returned to WSB just two months after undergoing life threatening brain surgery, then that **** Neil Tuxworth (Honda team manager) sacked him. One tough man
