Having listed two items on E-Bay recently, clearly stating "U.K bidders only - I will not ship overseas" I received a bid from Italy :hammer: so I revised the item with another message in Block Capitals and bold print, underlined, and guess what......................another different bid from :censored: Italy ...ARRRGHHHH :gunsmilie:
I have contacted each bidder asking for a U.K shipping address but have not received any reply... :censored: idiots :gun_bandana:

one way only Neil :mfr_lol:
OC, not sure if you are aware or not but Ebay changed their distribution system some time ago to increase sellers opportunities to get a buyer.
Doesn't matter now whether the seller is overseas or not, YOU ship to a UK shipping centre which Ebay identify and they take care of the rest. Simples!!
yeah I'd heard of that Steve but never used it myself, any way the bidder has been outbid now . Fingers crossed they don't bid again
for what its worth I had the same dilema last year , I did decide to ship to spain in the end and it cost not a lot more and was no more hassle in the end to do so, buyer paid the additional . Taking bids from overseas mainland europe sure does open up your oportunity to get a higher price . less likely for a buyer also to want to send it back.
Good point :agree: I'll have to see how things progress, only a day to go now on the listing
It is still annoying though especially when the listing makes it clear that Overseas bids are not accepted/wanted
.
Good points Daisy, :agree: I would happily combine postage costs for several items to one buyer, in fact I have done exactly that very recently
What annoys me is that it is obvious that potential purchasers do not read the item description and/or purchase detail before placing a bid
The items I am selling are fragile and therefore I will NOT post overseas, this decision is based on problems with shipping damage that I have encountered in the past and all the hassle that is involved in sorting it out. I have made my requirements crystal clear within the item description, so I don't understand why buyers don't observe this fact.
Also, I have messages from potential buyers asking for size detail when this is already shown in the item listing and is demonstrated by a photograph
It makes me wonder if these people completely stupid or what :gun_bandana:
I've sold quite a lot of items on ebay and the problem with people not reading or understanding the description given seems to be a perennial one, very annoying to answer stupid questions already explained on the item description. But for what it's worth, I used the ebay system to ship an item to eastern Europe just before Christmas by sending it to the U.K address and it worked a treat, so, given what is said above, if it's a single item, it works fine.

:agree: I have heard of others who have also had good experience with the Ebay Global shipping programme and I'm sure its a god way of further opening up the marketplace
Its just that I have had instances in the past where goods have been damaged in transit and its been a nightmare sorting out the problem.
I know I'm being a bit pedantic (cos I'm a grumpy old git :mfr_lol: ) but I just can't be doing with the hassle

Well I sold two helmets the first bid to win was from a buyer in Spain, despite my messages he ignored my suggestions and then refused to accept a cancellation ...bloody nob....I sold it to someone else
The second helmet auction was won by a guy in Northern Ireland, which is fine except he hasn't paid yet and hasn't responded to my messages...another nob :2guns:

I crashed my bike a few months ago...
Oh no
I hope no one was hurt, and that you're getting the bike back into shape thanks to parts from all over the globe!
Cheers,
