I was contacted today by Charlie who has very kindly taken on the responsibility of organising the meet in 2016. Officially the GTR meet but we have all come to love & respect the German offerings of which there may be a few appearances due to recent trade-ins & upgrades! :mfr_lol:
As the 2014 meet at The Belfry was such a success it made sense to revisit this venue which for those who are not aware has recently undergone major development and now offer significantly more rooms than previously. Everything is available on site, food, beer, Babychams for the ladies and flirty young ladies for Asif.
http://www.thebelfryhotel.co.uk
Charlie will be along shortly with prices but if I remember correctly the rooms are £35 single occupancy B & B and £60 B & B double occupancy.
We would like to see as many attending as possible for what promises to be a great gathering.
At your leisure, call the Belfry, place your booking and mention Charlie so the management know who is attending as Charlie is a regular there.
Cool, and for once SWMBO has got the weekend off!
Will pencil it in
Richard
Thanks For the intro Steve
I feel it's only fair to blame PRD at this time as I'm only his stunt double in all this :mfr_lol:

There are also 3 and 4 bed rooms available ( :listencarefully: Kinky......very very Kinky) please ask Shane for a price.
As Steve has said the hotel now has a new block of rooms with free off road parking. You may even be able to park your bike outside the bedroom for that contented feeling.
Steve hopefully will be along soon to provide photographic evidence of such arrangements
For those who missed 2014..............
The weather was good
We had booked 90% of the hotel accommodation
Europe was represented with Sweeden Belgum and Ireland registration plates in the bike park
Only one victim of gravity over the weekend ( me :whistling:)
Road trip across the border into downtown Wales
Entertainment provided while dining by locals who rammed their vehicles together outside the hotel
For the brave or foolhardy a visit to The Littledean Jail :death:
After an extensive diet of coffee and cheese covered chicken only one near death experience.
But that man has survived and returned in 2015 with the immortal words "where's the nearest A&E?" Will be good to catch up with him at this meet if he can make it.
On a serious note I was and still am proud to be associated with a group of people who when the unexpected happens come together to support and help a fellow member in trouble a long way from home.
So what's on offer for 2016?
A meet up of like minded bikers who enjoy good banter friendship and riding.
A bit of beer and pub grub
Bouncy castle
Rides out
Chilling out
Really what ever floats your boat is ok as long as I'm not arrested
So if you've got a GTR please bring it with you.
I know some of you have already ordered your new 1400GTR to ensure that after last years effort you'll be turning up on the right bike ( wonder who that could be ? :whistling: )
For those of you who have had, still got, or really fancy getting a GTR you are all welcome.
Please note:-
Event organisers have made special arrangements with hotel management for all visiting K16's to be locked away in the trash can enclosure so as not to sully the view of magnificent Kawasaki 1400GTRs on display
Please feel free to book directly with Shane at:-

I think you need to change the heading to : GTR forum members meet then I might turn up...............if its a hoot like 2014, should be good.
Roger, I'm more than happy to meet you at the venue mid - morning, as per last year. I spent quite some years living nearby (and will probably be accompanied by my Brother, who is still in the area) so I am sure that between us, we could find some interesting roads locally, if you want to go for a wander.
excellent thank you
Will communicate nearer the time to organise
Less than six months to go to the social extravaganza of the year. New members and old members all welcome. Does not matter what bike you ride. We are even ready to wrlcome(well sort of) k1600's! This is a great venue with great food, good beer and great ride outs. And it is affordable. Your partner or even your wife are welcome too. So if you are not sure just book and come and enjoy. I think Charlie is buying the first round! Be there or be square!

Still seeing if I can get over on the Sat for the evening.
I intend to travel over on Thursday as I need to visit my Mother (where I will be staying). As it is only a few miles away, I would be more than happy to meet up with you on Friday if you do decide to turn out.

Whats the ride out plans for the Frid and Sat?
I think the ride out would be Sat or Sun, ,,,,,,,,,when drinking its not advisable to partake moving on 2 wheels !
So whos up for the steady ride over from the east on the Friday ? Its getting close now. Myself, Charlie and Partners could meet up with people along the way.
And if its your first meet, you could get to know a few people before turning up at the Belfry.
Hi Ant do you have a plan yet? what time leaving and from where?
I plan on leaving from Newmarket any time on the Friday .
Hi Charlie Farley and others we could meet up some where on the A11, A14 or A428 (nr Charlie747's Gaff) if that's the way you are thinking about going?
Currently my only plan is to leave Newmarket haven't a clue which way to get there zero sense of direction just follow sat navigation or any body who may know ,every ride is an adventure for me

My suggestion is Peterborough for those who want to meet there. Head west fastest route and a couple of stops where anyone else fancies meeting up.
Don't forget a rideout will happen Saturday ( even if I sort it ) with second man drop off system in operation, so no one gets lost. I'll explain if that's new to people at the Belfry.

Is the drop off system compulsory?
No Steve, just thought it would stop folk getting lost if there's more than 6 bikes involved.......
what's ya thinking ?
Getting lost is part of the adventure
I know some folk love this system and swear by it and others detest it. I've seen it done in such a way that it was a miracle that nobody got wiped out by a car as the riders positioned/exposed themselves at various junctions and roundabouts in such precarious positions. I've also seen it done in such a way that it was a joy to watch and really fluid.....when it works, it really works, when it doesn't, it can be quite hazardous.
Personally I find it disruptive to the ride as I like to keep going and flow without having to be mindful of where I am in a group and where I am likely to be required to stop. Just my personal opinion.
I'll go with the majority though, see what folk want to do.
As quite a few have sat navs, would it be worth trying to knock up a gpx file of the ride out in case anyone gets lost? I know that also has its problems, but might be a useful exercise to see what sat navs stay on track. Hope you all have fun everyone, I'll be away on my hols.
Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
Well if its not used the ride can be too slow and boring, but I take your point. Been using it for the last 4 years on the FJR rideouts without problems with up to 38 bikes and like you say, when it works it works well............it depends on where the leader tells you to stop.
But I will go with the majority, and we will just have to pick a route without too many turnings and a destination point for sat nav...........I'm sure it will be fun either way :punk:
Ah the joys of comming from the west of ireland its me only me , i cant get lost as i am where i am at that moment.Oh also i know the uk is bigger than ireland but remember you cant get lost its an island ride till you see a large body of water then turn left or right.

I think I'm in this year. Going to ride down with Steve if I am.
Not really ridden the bike and the discs/pads need changing. Aiming to get that done this week sometime and then get some mileage done. Not sure a 3hr ride is the best thing to do after not riding the bike all year.
Edit:
Just seen that its at the Belfry (for some reason I thought it was at swallow falls). This is the place where there's the statue of Miss Whiplash and the weird museum right?
Oh yeah, and the Belfry is where that hot chick wanted (and got) a pic with me :whistling:

Staying Fri & Sat night.

Hi Boomer
The pub was The Green Man A43 Siverstone.

Would this be a good meet up point for lunch ?
Let us know mate. Hoping ribs going to be ok ?
Suits me. What time approx?
12noon, 1pm, 12:43:21? :innocent:
My planned route will be Chelmsford, Bishop Stortford, Buntingford,A507 to MK, A421 to Buckingham, Silverstone, the A43 and the Green Man Inn. If anyone else wants to hook up on the way, gimme a shout.
From there I will follow the leader unless ya want me to plan a route to The Belfry.
Just remember I don't do SatNav (at least not whilst riding) so will probably get a bit lost if leading  :help:
I always get where I'm going but rarely by the planned route.

There's a good chance I will be on my first NEG training day on Saturday. I will let you know.
Debs, this meet is once a year, if you delay the NEG training by one week it ain't gonna kill you is it?
Get yourself to the meet, they'll be a few there you know, they'll be many more there including me that you can take the piss out of, you might even enjoy yourself. It was a really good weekend last time at The Belfry....maybe not for John unfortunately who found the museum too much for his heart but on the whole everyone enjoyed themselves.

Thanks! However, we live in the Flemish (Dutch) speaking part (and we both don't speak French) ;-)
Nevertheless much appreciated, I'll pass it on to my wife.
If any bike parts / repairs / work is required pop to Haines Motorcycles in the high street, pass on my regards to Tony as I used to train CBT / part 1 & 2 with him for Glos Council!
Really miffed that unable to attend through family and work commitments, miss the old hunting ground!
Enjoy the weekend!
Good to meet you all last night, couple of local recommendations:
Great home cooked pub food, bit of a local secret is the Yew Tree Inn at Peterstow, just outside Ross a couple of miles up the Hereford road. They also have a cider farm, just behind the pub, Broome Farm and a shop where you can buy their cider. (I am not connected with them, but it is a bit of a special place.) if you like you can have a wander through the apple orchards and check out the farm, lovely people.
Enjoy your ride out today, Brecon and the Black Mountains is a good day trip,
Cheers,
Phil
Hope your all having a great weekend and really sorry that I didn't manage to call in. Murphy's law came into play and its been a really busy day on the blood bike. At 18-30 I have a 100 mile round trip to change the blood on the Air Ambulance, which is done every 48 hours unless it gets used.
Just have to try harder next time.
Best wishes.

Great pictures Steve and so glad I'm not in any. :sweatdrop: :whistling:
great meet-up, home safely, nice to see old friends and new ones Debs and Charley Farley. how's this for service Charley Farley said he would make a part for my bike and at 6.30pm texted me to say it s ready
Great photos Steve. Colin aka Stoketim :whistling:
well made it home ,had an excellent ride up the coast smooth sailing home and arrived 2.00am this morning.Great to meet everyone again and to those that i met for the first time it was a pleasure meeting you.
Great to meet everyone again.
Disappointed that Charlie didn't turn up to greet me in the nude. Also disappointed that the statue of Miss Whiplash had moved from the village green.
That was my first big ride on the bike for almost a year, and Steve and I had a lovely relaxed ride back home.
When Asif said a lovely relaxed ride back home he doesn't mean I was riding too slow he just means it was a relaxed ride. I just thought I'd make that clear! :innocent:
And Colin apologies for getting your name mixed up, I rushed putting the photos on last night, it sounded right at the time but I clearly :censored: up!

I was surprised you filtered on the motorway.
That other guy, with the small bike infront of me, was :censored: at filtering
Yeah, I noticed that. I thought he was going to drop it at one point. I wish drivers would allow a bit more space though, some of the gaps were a tad tight.
The photo of Asif on his phone is he wearing one of those fancy hats with the built in brolly :whistling:

Good to meet you all last night, couple of local recommendations:
Great home cooked pub food, bit of a local secret is the Yew Tree Inn at Peterstow, just outside Ross a couple of miles up the Hereford road. They also have a cider farm, just behind the pub, Broome Farm and a shop where you can buy their cider. (I am not connected with them, but it is a bit of a special place.) if you like you can have a wander through the apple orchards and check out the farm, lovely people.
Enjoy your ride out today, Brecon and the Black Mountains is a good day trip,
Cheers,
Phil
Once I'm back on form I'll have to check out the fine dinning 🍴 Thanks for the tip :punk:
Once again my apologies for the no show at weekend.
May I thank all for your kind words and support
The pictures look good especially as I've not appeared in my boxers meeting and greeting Asif :mfr_lol:
Hoping to catch up with you all soon
Ride safe
Seems like a corrupted memory card in my camera, I can re-format it which will lose any contained data or simply replace it with a new one, which I think is the better option
So sorry but I cannot post any pictures, which I have to say aren't as good as Steve's anyway
Sounds to me like you are claiming the 5th amendment to cover up anything that those of us unable to attend shouldn't be a party to :mfr_lol:
If I am I'll be 'using' the evidence at a later date :mfr_lol:
Always good to have something in reserve

Did you have BMW pictures on it? If so, that might be the reason. :mfr_lol:
Seems, Asif is the youngest of the bunch.. Unfortunately, I'd fit right in with the rest of you.
Get that number plate changed Asif.. You know it's illegal.. You need one of the mahoosive ones.. :mfr_lol:
OC thanks for posting your photos. That photo of me is terrible but at least you got a great shot of my K16.

No problem --- actually it was a royal pain in the :asshole: to sort the card, :hammer:
I will now re-format that memory card to see if it can be rescued, there's a new one arriving so I'll probably just destroy that particular card
