Title: Engine jerky when cold
Post by: Nygie on June 10, 2011, 09:43:15 PM
Has anyone elses bike have this trait?
It's quite horrible but goes when warmed up a little nothing a bit of revs cannot sort out.
It's just when your easy away it stumbles almost like a cough or misfire, give it a minute or two and it's fine.
Maybe I should let it idle for five mins before rinding, then it wouldn't be cold ;D

TBH, my engine is never cold when I ride it. I always start the bike and wait till a few mins before riding.

What's it idling at? Do the throttle bodies require re-syncing? When was the air filter last changed?

Nygie, I tend to get the bike out of the garage, climb aboard, fire her up and off I go. Even though I have to crawl out of my drive usually at speeds less than 10mph I've never noticed anything such as you have described.

Hmm i'll get round to syncing the throttle bodies and checking the filter before I go away.

Cheers
Or I could just let it warm up!

If theres something brewing, best to find the source and sort it sooner rather than later I always say.
