Now I'm looking forward to a loud THUD as the large envelope containing my winners beer tokens hits the door mat .....WOO HOO   :mfr_lol:

I'm not ready for all that corporate lifestyle stuff in my life yet. :surrender:
I've already noticed nobody nods a head or lifts an arm in friendship .........even other riders of........the love that shall not be spoken of bikes !
When you dismount people look at you as if you've trod in a pile of poo
May be you don't get arrogant Teutonic as a cost option buying secondhand ? :mfr_lol: : :mfr_lol:
How about...."For those who have seen the light". :mfr_lol:
TOO LATE....I WON :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:
I was a member of the BMW forum and it was the most depressing political forum that I have ever had the misfortune to be a part of......yeah really, so much in fighting. ..unreal
Got to agree with Rog above, just left the BMW Face Book Group, my God what a boring set of :censored: .

The 'main' site is, or used to be, quite a busy site, but just full of Sh*t
I think that as forums and bikes 'mature' (and I say this in the kindest way), the discussions change and the chatter becomes less. It seems that way on ours. We get a few new riders every month but nothing like it was in the beginning at the GTR/C14 introductions. Our forum is busier than yours but we have more 'active' members but again, it's nothing like it was in the beginning.
Having a forum that's like banter among friends is the ideal, I think. We have that more than not. I've tried to foster that on ours (C14 boards) and for the most part it works but we still get the occasional personality that has no sense of humour that causes strife and then sword must fall or at least wave in the general direction. I don't see that here and I'm here at least as much as I am on our forum (reading).
Having a new board here with other bikes is never going to replace a forum dedicated to one model or brand. You're never going to get all the information you need, but the riders here are some of the very best I've virtually met and I'm sure that the discussions will yield a bit more chatter and I may learn a thing or two along the way.
:agree: you are undoubtedly a sage Jim
My wife has another word for it. I prefer yours.
If anyone thinks of better names for the other boards as well let me know

If you are looking for a cure for insomnia might I recommend a BMW owners meeting. When I owned bikes from the dark side I attended a couple of meetings. Slept like a baby ever since. They were not friendly either seemed to think they were bettere than other marque riders.

It's got the right light pattern and the correct exhaust emissions..
How about Feck off its my bike I dont care what you own.Truthfully i feel that the integrity of this site is slowly waning ,next there will be a tractor section for the (harley) lovers, a cage section and so on where will it all end .I will however draw the line when we start discussing zimmer frames. That all saying i dont even own a gtr anymore .

Calm down lad it's only banter!
The reason for having another section was just somewhere to discuss other bikes, a section that most bike forums have. The k1600/bmw reference is a long running joke on this forum.
Think you need another pint of Guiness to recharge your zimmer frame :mfr_lol:
WTF, you mean people have been laughing at us cos we have a K1600?
You all kept that bloody quiet! :mfr_lol:
Im shocked that asif thought of all people i might be serious lol.

Ok you got me this time
The Dark Side is good and kudos to OC for that.
In the USA DarkSiders are people who run car tyres on the rear of their bike.
Personally I also like the name "Bikes Made Weird"   :mfr_lol:
funny you should mention the car tyre (tire) practice George it's something that's recently been discussed on another forum I frequent. ....just cant see the sense in it myself
You can't really call it panzers as there not all German.
What about something like Marmite :mfr_lol:
I'm voting for Marmite! I think I've got a 10 year old jar in our pantry somewhere.

Strangely enough, I get it. Over there they have a LOT of straight roads, less rain, and their roads are generally more abrasive than ours, so a car tyre with its harder rubber gives vastly better rear tyre mileage and the effect on cornering is less than you'd expect.
Illegal over here but I still wouldn't do it even if it wasn't as that difference in handling feels like going back to Avon Ditchfinders. :shit:

Fair point .....not many/enough straight roads here to justify it though, we like the twisties :mfr_lol:
If you want a new name for the board, how about "Second Best Rides"?

I wonder if this should be a closed section for inferior, alternative bike owners to avoid a North South divide scenario. :mfr_lol:
