I wonder why cruise control is fitted to the VN 1700 Voyager Custom as standard and not offered on the GTR
Seems a bit odd to me
It was on it's predecessor the Voyager XII. I had one and enjoyed the cruise. It also had CB and Radio. Adding a follow on bike without cruise would have been a big miss on sales. That set of riders makes us look like kids, age wise.
I had cruise on a previous K1300 GT, and also have it on my current S10 yamaha, I do use it from time to time, I guess if I spent more time on long distance tours I would use it even more, I also have electronic suspension on my current bike and that is only used on rare occasions so I suppose I could easily live without it.
With our long distance roads here in the States, cruise is nearly a necessity. I use it with my autos all the time and don't see why I wouldn't use it on the bike. Some, poo poo cruise and that real riders have no need of it. I'm not in that category (I'm such a softy). Cruise has been on the want list for the C14 for years and some riders have deserted the brand for other bikes that do have it. I really hope that Mr. Kwackers is paying attention to that and will re-introduce a sport tourer in the next year or so that has that feature and doesn't start with a 'B'.
:agree:
It just seemed odd to me that as the CC feature is currently available on another model that it couldn't be 'applied' to the GTR which is marketed as a continent crunching mile muncher (my choice of words) :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:
All these bells and whistles people want.
The reason I ended up with a GTR was because Triumph stopped selling the Trophy without all the toys.
I want a bike whose engine does the same all the time and suspension I set once and leave alone.
Petrol, oil, air in tyres and ride (mostly on B roads and smaller A roads ;) ).
the triumph trophy se still comes with all the toys you need doesn't it???? nearly went for a test ride two weeks ago ..till i opted for the 16 k, ps have been told to expect delivery next wenesday (once a new pannier arrives as mine has came with a scratched one !!)

Yep good old KHI know how to make a sweet strong inline 4 with a gear change like a hot knife through butter or as smooth as the silk stockings on a young ladies inner thigh or like the finest malt.............
Where as the ultimate drive/riding machine has the shift quality of a blue poker dot pink rhino hide ice cream van with nuts and bolts instead of oil as gearbox lubricant. :tank:
Now let me see ...........how many upgrade or recalls have I had on the old war horse..........that's it..........Bugger all  :punk:
In the mean time the old barge went into have a ECU upgrade on Saturday. When I asked why where etc I was informed it was to stop the engine potentially running backwards ! :mfr_lol:
Mentioned the gear change quality and was informed that I was luck I've got a 14 model year bike as the early ones were even worst :whistling:
So so glad I've got both bikes
Now Charlie don't be so disloyal to the K16 you know how much I rate BMW. Lol!
Maybe it has been running backwards the whole time, Charlie... :mfr_lol:
Love my Cruise Control and wouldn't be without it... Next GTR will have one fitted too.
