Title: USAF XB-70 rolls again..
Post by: virginiajim on October 28, 2015, 08:32:47 PM
I hope that you didn't expect it to fly...

The AF Museum in Dayton OH has started to roll aircraft into the new hanger.  I'm particularly proud of this as I am a Foundation member and helped fund this new hanger...

And now there are 4.  Not that we are comparing, mind you, but I think the AF museum is bigger than the Naval Aviation museum in FL.  I'd like to see that one at some point.  It would take me a long day to ride there from Virginia.  Sounds like time for a road trip but maybe in the Spring now.  Hmmm, just looked and it's 925 miles.  Not quite a day trip.  I would need 5 days to get there and back.  So two days down, one day at the museum and two days back.  At least it would be all Interstate for the most part although going through Atlanta would not be good depending on time of day or any large city along the route..
