Obviously not on the Queen's highway but how fast have you been on your bike. I suspect I'm a bit of a wimp fastest I have been was on French motorway two up fully loaded 110 mph. Are the earlier models faster?
I must have been a German Autobahn !!! but i got 165mph, fully loaded, both panniers and topbox + 25st
Coman
Ps, not flat out, stil a bit more available, but traffic, bottle, licence prevented more

Of course they are..
:agree: I'm with Jim all the way on that!
Big believer in "it ain't what it does, it the way that it does it!"
Still think it's one of the best buzzes when you wind 'em up from 6k to 8k in third or fourth, :surrender:
who gives a darn about the mph!
Silly question...........what happens after 9000 rpm? Warp drive?

I did that today in fact... 6k to 8k in 3rd or fourth.
Warp drive...yes. I've had that happen a time or two. Time stands still. Quite unnerving actually. I also felt the bike pulling away from me...literally. I felt like I was going backwards and the bike was going forwards.

1400GTR camara bike at TT following Mr Dunlop. If it was a 2010 model the pillion would of been able to film the front of Mr Dunlops bike as they do in the Tour de France ! :mfr_lol:

He must've been taking it easy. The average lap for the top blokes is 125+, so the GTR would struggle to keep up. :whistling:
Would have loved to have seen the GTR in action from behind..

Try it ... you'll like it. Third gear is best. or second. never be afraid of the red line. bike engines are designed to rev.
The shifting improves remarkably as well at the higher rpms (not that it's bad to begin with).
This bike begs to be ridden hard..and does extremely well when done so.

You need to focus on your observation skills where roundabouts are concerned.......you remember what I'm referring to?
I don't know how it works in the UK, but the drivers over here are absolute idiots when it comes to roundabouts..

Same here Jim, no forward planning when approaching a roundabout and consequently no indication and even less awareness whilst negotiating them :2guns:
It drives me nuts when they get in front of me :gun_bandana:
:agree: :agree: :agree: :agree: :agree: :agree: :agree: :agree: :agree: :agree: :agree: :agree: :agree:
I work in Birmingham for my sins, traffic discipline is :shit:
There appears to no reason why the council should pay for and deploy signs and lane markings, 50% of drivers are oblivious to them! Shortest and straightest line appears to be the accepted norm nowadays! :censored:
Haven't a problem if there's no-one about or affected by the manoeuvre, but I'm old school, left hand lane unless turning right, unless signs indicate otherwise, indicating left when passed last exit before yours.
Does the highway code still exist?
Have I missed an update stating the highways are no a free for all!
Need some steps to get off this horse!
I wonder what the ratio is to someone who thinks about riding/driving vs the idiots?
I'm thinking that 80% of us are fine rider/drivers. Unfortunately those 20% left cause 80% of all the issues.

With the standard of driving I am coming across I think you are being generous Jim with 80%.

Was the Can Am rider pulling wheelies towards the end, or just how it looked, with his head movement? I'm 65 now, but when I get OLD, I will probably go to one of those three wheel things. tp
Not wanting to seem dumb, but what is a roundabout? A song by YES, or what we sometimes call a circle? Jim may know, as he's on this side of the pond now. tp
One of my all time favorite songs.

Of course Jim knows what a roundabout is... I'm on both sides of the pond BTW. I actually call them that over in the US as well.
Thanks. Your roundabouts are our circles. Grew up in a town with one, but traffic was always too congested there to be used as anything but a traffic control location.

our roundabouts proved to be great for learning to 'getting yer knee down'
I prefer to get my knee up as if it's down then I am half way through crashing.
