So i was on my way up the M6 and i came up behind a KTM1190. this'll be interesting, i tohught, as i like these and they are on my bike to have next list.
traffic was heavy and we both made good progress swapping the lead depending on lane position etc. Not racing.
I was ahead at my turn off and thought that the KTM1190 required further investigation. then it arrived next to me at the lights.... i looekd over to nod hello but Mr KTM was focused on the red light and looking to go my way as well.
OK i thought, let's see.
he went on Amber as did I.
we went a bit faster as did i.
realising that he was ACTUALLY TRYING TO GET PAST me....
I open the taps up on the GTR and left him standing.
i don't want a KTM1190 anymore.
:mfr_lol: I love it when that happens. Silly twits, they have no idea. It's really fun when passing HDs... They keep speeding up cause they don't want me to pass them and then just as I get even I twist the throttle and off I go chuckling to myself..
try the same with the 1290 SA.... ;-)
as long as its below 130 and no boxes! (will go faster).... 1190 is raw, but the 1290 is ohhhhh so quick, although that might be because I've dropped the front sprocket by 1 tooth.....
it just pulls and pulls - wheeling off the throttle well at over 80mph with no TC.
1290 also has so many toys as standard.... I love mine for the roads around here - just not on long motorway miles!

Racing on her Majesties Highway....??
The Ktm canot have been trying , its got 150bhp and will out drag a gtr . The gtr is to heavy , it's still very fast and smooth ,but it still ain't that fast , my previous zzr1200 would have left it for dead on the 0-130 times , it got the same power as the zzr1100 . It's just a super smooth motor , I have had all my bikes up the drag strip at York race way ,so I know what it will do , I still love it tho , :biker3:
tut tut :whistling:
KTM 1190 will wheelie in 2nd & 3rd so unless you are an experienced drag racer the GTR can beat it off the lights due to being easier to manage at full throttle. Also 9/10 riders cannot even get close to their bikes quoted 0-60 or 1/4 mile times.
thanks Boomer.
Power is nothing without control.
Blimey I thought I'd just strayed onto the H2 Forum :mfr_lol:
