Well as posted elsewhere on site I managed to get out and have a ride this Tuesday last.
Due to the tour guide wishing to punish himself with a 04.30hrs start of day time it was agreed to meet @ Jun 15A M1 south bound services.
A time of 8.00hrs was set
Gear was cleaned
Bikes were readied
New Sat Nav fitted
Etc etc
First of the day's incidents a failed Sat Nav...........having paid BMW money for the offending device much finger proding of the screen ensued followed by much mode button pushing and thumb wheel wurling then the expletives started.............................40 mins later all is good and normal service resumes
Looking up as I select 1st gear with the expected thud I see blue sky..........all is good with the world.
8 miles later the rain starts and we spend a hit and miss relationship for the rest of the day
After working my way through around and over Northampton rush hour traffic I find my mate on the right side of the M1 services and due to my delay making major investments @ Costalota chocolate feeding his drinking chocolate and marshmallow sugar fix. He greeted me with the glazed eyes of a man who was questioning his wisdom of a 04.30hrs start. My late arrival did not help as 3 or 4 empties stood on his table the chocolate rush building within him.
We did see a black GTR which we parked up by Steve spreading the gospel of the forum to its owner.
We set off on our trip to Steak Ale pie and chip nirvana. I was to be wing man to our Global Moderator.
On the last roundabout of the A43 Towcester by pass the leader who due to his canny nature had moved up in traffic indicated right and disappeared behind the mount of earth known as a roundabout island. I followed safe in the knowledge that we were heading south west on the A43
As I left the roundabout the dual carriageway ahead was grey with spray and rain and the pale grey K16 of Wolf was not there! Not there? Dam I've gone wrong. He's heading to Chipping Norton via the lanes dam dam dam...............
So how fars the next exit ?
Make progress find exit.
Turn back make progress
Return to roundabout and take what I believe is the right exit
Little did I know that the leader had gone roundabout surfing and was now my wingman!!!
It would appear that I lost him while returning to Towcester
So we regrouped at Chipping Norton and continued the tour
The Slaughters are beautiful at any time of year and Tuesday was no different. If you've not been it's well worth the detour
And so on to one of our favourite lunch spots and a photo or two
We returned from the Tewksbury area via the A46 far nicer than the motorway and one PRD had shown me a few weeks before
We stopped for a final drink and faiirwell at Donnington services at the top of the M42
A good day out even if the weather was moist at times and as I realised yesterday it was the last ride of summer 2015
I'm sure Steve will add a photo or two and I may have video footage if I can work the bucket thing out :mfr_lol:
Finally he's posted 'his version' of events.
Yes it was a 04:30 wake up call for me, I didn't like that but in order to get to the services for 8am I had to bite the bullet. I arrived only to discover that Charlie was delayed due to his sat nav. He only had 55 miles approximately to go in a straight line but bless him he had to get it fixed before he rolled off his drive. Thankfully the services had a Costa so I had to indulge myself with some hot chocolates and marshmallows.
When he eventually rolled into the car park at 08:40 we had a natter for an hour before setting off to Chipping Norton. As he's said, what happened next could have been a theme for a comedy, how he didn't see me coming back round the roundabout I've no idea, but he didn't, nor did he see me when I followed him up the sliproad towards Silverstone, or when we both turned right at the top and then right again to go back down the sliproad.......Lol, it was a mess.
Chipping Norton and then on to Stow before going to the Slaughters and finally the Lower Lode for lunch. I think we finally left the pub at tea time and then headed back via Evesham and onto Kegworth. Finally got home about 22:45 after discovering the M1 was totally closed off between J39-J40 due to roadworks which meant I had to deviate miles through the centre of Wakefield.
All in I think I did about 400 miles and it was a great day out.
Photos will be added in a couple of minutes.
A few photos....

Yep Mess :mfr_lol:
But a great day out and a good laugh
It's becoming a tradition for one of the pair of us to enjoy a totally different route and time scale during our days out
Best thing of all its fun we enjoy every Wolf Tour because you just don't know what diversion will happen
The last ride out if you remember we had a man jump off a bridge 3 lunches and some great roads and scenery. By comparison this was a pretty tame day :mfr_lol:
Wolf yet another master piece of artwork :punk:
