i used the cig lighter socket to blow up a tyre with a pump, on using it, i think i have blown a fuse. Where under the seat is the fuse as there is 3 fuse boxes? and would it be safe to go up to the next biggest fuse? so that it doesent blow again when using the electric tyre pump.
Thanks
Glen
this question has come up loads of time, yes just put a 10amp fuse in you will be fine. 2010 models had the fuse down graded from a 10 to a 5 for some reason, the cable thickness did not change , most of us have done it , you will be good
Until this happens...

Grip Heaters. Although the grip heaters have a separate fuse way, their source wiring is shared with the accessory socket.
A 10amp fuse will solve the problem. If you are paranoid about it, just make sure your grip heaters are off when using the socket. They should turn off automatically at low engine RPM though.

I've had exactly the same issue. The tyre inflator worked fine with my car which has a 20A accessory socket fuse, but when I tried to use it on the bike - nada.
The manual showed me where the fuse was. Replaced it, and tested the accessory socket with my car sat nav, and all was good.
If you don't have any joy finding which fuse and where, ping me a message and I'll do my best to help.
Cheers

Hopefully the picture shows. Not sure it will if you aren't signed in.
If you can't see the picture there then try this...

tried putting a 10amp fuse in and used a foot pump, but when i pulled it out the fuse blew again.
Glen
Methinks the electric pump is pulling too many amps...
Ok, you said you put in a 10amp fuse and used a foot pump. I'm assuming the foot pump is manually operated by the foot?
What are you pulling out? (I'm very well aware of the potential of this statement generating copious amounts of mirth)
