Title: Replacing OEM Bulbs
Post by: markmacd on September 08, 2015, 08:50:33 PM
Looking to get some additional lamps fitted, but also wondered how many of you have changed the stock bulbs for something brighter, as it looks like a quick upgrade to do to make you better seen now nights are drawing in.

Comments appreciated.

They look good. What fitting type is needed as it specifies H2/H3/H4/H5/H6/H7

Yep, H4's indeed, well that's on a 2008!  :agree:
Think I'll be getting a pair for mine later, the difference they made on my Tiger 1050 was amazing, shi*e lights on that one!
Tried the HID option as well, not going there again!
Unless your reflector is designed for HID I wouldn't recommend it! Bright yes, but light ends up in the strangest of places!
As for upping the wattage, I'm always considerate of the wiring, 90w dip beam, that almost doubles the current pulled when running!

If I go for upgrades ill still to the same wattage. Don't want electrical issues or melting reflectors, that will eventually show a yellow tint

upping the wattage is fine for the wires. i calculated it once and it's still within spec. i've been running 90/140w for 6 months, nothing has melted.

Just ordered a pair of Osram Nightbreaker Unlimitted for £18.36. This was with a 20% discount code applied, so thought this was pretty good price.

They come with a pair of free Osram side light bulbs also.
