Title: Dealerships
Post by: ant177 on September 04, 2015, 07:56:30 AM
Does anyone have any experience with the Kawasaki dealership Frasers of Gloucester or Blade Group Kawasaki in Swindon?
Whilst the bike is under warranty I plan on having all servicing done by a dealership but I know from past experience that dealerships can vary greatly in their workmanship!

Hi, I bought mine second hand from Frasers. I've been getting them to do my servicing for years (on other bikes as well at the GTR) Never had a problem with them, they seem very professional although not cheap. I had an issue with brakes on a BMW I bough from them some time back and they took it in for a couple of weeks, lent me another bike and sorted it. No charge.
I'm in there next Monday for service/MOT. Hope this helps.

I don't like the sound of "not cheap"!

I'll be due for the first service (3750) in a month or so and it looks like a "kick the tyres" service with no actual work to be done. Hopefully they can't charge too much for that!

I'm near Swindon but use Bristol Kawasaki to get mine serviced. They've been brilliant over the past four years and I'm in there for a service every 3 months!

I bought my bike second hand from Blade in Swindon and took it back for a new fork seal about a week later. Don't know what they charge but they fitted a new one straight away with no issues. They were also quick, i dropped it off, had some lunch and when I returned it was ready to ride away.

Thanks for the responses everyone. They're all positive which is a good thing I suppose! Doesn't help actually pick one however

Why do you make the journey down to Bristol out of curiosity? I've done dafter things (I used to get my last bike serviced by Artdeans in Swindon when I lived in Coventry!) but just curious why you don't use Blade.

What I mean by 'not cheap' is that they charge what you would expect from a main dealer whereas going to some smaller private shops prices can be negotiated on occasion-in my experience.
