What is your most memorable bike. And may be not for the best reasons. Back in 1975 I owned a triumph Daytona a proper one with the gear change on the right ,1972 vintage. It had been slightly customised ,deep blue tank ,chrome oil tank , and best of all a cream seat. I would ride that in flared jeans, desert boots, tie dye tea shirt and green jacket, my Marc Bolan hair stuffed into gold open face helmet. Me and that bike what a chick magnet. Then one day it developed a rattle. I took no notice of it. Ah the innocence of youth! This was a costly mistake, on a hot sunny afternoon, just outside Regents Park it seized. Turned out oil pump had failed. I could not afford to repair so sold it cheap and used that money for a deposit to buy a Suzuki GT 185 but that's another story. Recently I looked up the no plate on DVLA and it is still out there but is now red.
I loved my Kawasaki z250 scorpion 1981 x reg , first real bike , had 50cc and superdream before that.
But my most fav was my 2004 zzr1200 , I had it from new and for 7 years, sold it for the gtr
Mine was my Honda, yes I said Honda, a CX500. The first and only bike I have ever travelled overseas on and loved it.

yes , I'm havin that , ive had two cx500's thought the v twin engine was the Dogs danglies at the time , proper solid bike .
I've been lucky enough to own some very special classic bikes over the years, so I cant really pick just one out as they all had their own personalities,
My 1981 Yamaha TZ250 with Hummel barrels was indeed a very special bike and don't think that just because it was 'only'a 250 that it wasnt exciting......my god it was scary between 10500 and 12000 rpm !
The Bridgestone 350 GTO I owned was truly stunning, I'm a touch embarrassed to admit that I actually had a lump in my throat when I sold it (and a lump in my pants when I owned it) :mfr_lol:
My 1975 Kawasaki H2c tops the list, it is pictured on here in another posting..STUNNING simply STUNNING.and exciting too.
Any 'current' bike is currently the most memorable and my present day Yamaha XT1200ZE Super Tenere is amazing.
BDG 350T, BMW R80/7 with RT fairing, from Mead and Tomkinson in Gloucester!
Loved it! First Euro tour, did over 700 miles, two up, in one day in total comfort! Not a lot that beat that nowadays!
DVLA vehicle search says it's still out there, would buy it back tomorrow!

Talking CX5's, saw this and it's deffo on the want list!
I'll never forget my first big bike. a 1999 Suzuki bandit 1200. 98bhp as standard and after i traded it in for the GTR this Feb it was running 150bhp +50hp of Nitrous Oxide. Even that was calm compared to a CR500 motox bike i had for a bit. Swaped that for a Husaberg Supermoto FE650 thinking that would be mental. but it wasn't - unbelievable cornering though.
had some great times on the GruffaloScoot (do a google image search) the GTR is a workhorse and whilst exciting i don't feel i've bonded with it.
but my current XR600 is pretty special.
Love that GruffaloScoot...........we need more pics of that fun loving beast :mfr_lol:
ZG1300/6. Awesome motor, big, heavy, long. FINALLY a bike designed for me. Wish I had never sold it. Would love to own another but 22Mpg is very impractical.

Honda CBX1000 Pro-Link.
Always my dream bike when I was young, and I still think the best looking bike .....in the world!
Had two of them actually, first one had to go to finance house after separation, second one to fund a Blackbird.
Silky smooth 6 cylinder engine, comfy and reasonable (good for the time) handling.
Build quality was amazing, as was reliability. Great solo or with a pillion. Brilliant machine.

Honda CB 500/4. Owned two during the 1970's and then had to buy another in 2003 (which I still have) as I couldn't erase the memories!
Of the bikes that I now own, it is by far the most fun to ride. Sounds like a classic racer rather than a vacuum cleaner. A few years ago I took it to Wales and rode around the Elan Valley as I did in my youth. Same bike, same rider, but 40 years later. Made me feel 17 again, something that is rarely achieved, usually I just feel old!
Not fast (48 bhp and 452 lbs + rider meant it never would be) but beautifully balanced and handles in a manner that none of my other old bikes can match. (The 750, by contrast, is like a powered pogo - stick over a series of bumps or ridges - same rear suspension units except for spring rates, but much heavier).
So, the CB 500/4 has my vote as my all - time best bike.

Charlie.. When you post a picture from Photobucket, you need to copy and paste the IMG link in to your message and not the link at the top of your web browser.

Have to say I do know what you mean Chris.................they were a rare sight when new so to bump into this lot at the same time was awesome .........the sound as they left was a sweet wail which I followed west bound up the M4 with the windows open just to savour that masterpiece from Mr Honda.
Low and behold the dealer I'm getting the Old Barge from has a mint original condition MK1 in red for sale..........I dared not ask the price.
Just down the A15 from you in Lincoln Chris..........maybe worth a trip down memory lane?........................and yes before you ask they do have a clean up squad for those little mishaps :mfr_lol:
