Title: Brake Pads
Post by: markmacd on August 25, 2015, 05:34:13 PM
Are there any videos or step by step guides on the right way to remove/replace the Front and Rear Pads. Maybe a silly question, but I know from past experience that the little tweaks and knowledge gained from others who have been there and done it, helps loads and prevents doing things out of sequence, preventing probs.

The Gtr is a piece of P##s just remember to order double for the front not 1 pair like I did  :censored:.
Undo the 2 bolts each side that go through the pad/ clips remove pads clean thoroughly  with brake cleaner and a tooth brush I did.push the Pistons back in copper slip the back of the pads and threads.make sure non goes on the pad side.
And be carful not to over tighten when I did mine there was no need to bleed or top up fluid

There is a link below if it helps I didn't bother filing the pads

And every so often take the pads out, pull the caliper off and clean around the pistons with brake cleaner and a toothbrush.

Copper grease the back of the pads to prevent squeak and add some to the bolt threads; you'll be glad you did the next time.

Thanks Everyone. Looks straight forward enough to me from the info, videos etc. Always like to ask them in the know first.
Cheers everyone

And not the one you use every day...or your wife's or GF's for that matter.
