Hi All
I am due to be traveling to France on my first European trip and want to know what type of unleaded petrol do i use.
Thanks
Glen
the same as here, it may have ron 95 on the nozzle back. if its a premium unleaded then its ususally obvious by the colour or price or some fancy name
It's called Sans Plomb 95
You can use 98 as well with no problems.
The pumps are green.
In France diesel pumps are yellow and Leaded petrol are blue.
These are definately to be avoided in the 1400. :nono:
Not always the case Boomer.
Some, such as Aral are blue for all fuels but have the '95' or Super on the handle
just Look for 95
All this sounds bloody complicated.
Hiii...just look "sans plomb 95 ron"...in some places in the same petrol station you will found 95ron and others pump with 98ron( 98 is more expensive but quality is more good as well)
I've heard horror stories about the "E" rated fuel, trouble is you only hear the bad stuff!
Advice says can be bad for older engines, hmmm........puts me in doubt then! :undecided:
Managed to avoid it on tour last year, here's the Telegraph's info on it.......................

I'm with topo, 95 or 98 "sans plomb" :agree:
On our recent trip through France and Spain I stuck to the 98 premium when ever possible, having heard bed things about the 95 with ethanol, although did run 2 tanks of the 95 when there was nothing else available, all went fine.
MPG for the whole trip was 36.8 according to the computer, not bad for a fully loaded trike.

Not complicated ;-)
In my weekly trips there always good take the 95 sans plomb (meaning unleaded).
Even in smaller villages...
Best prices you can find where bigger shooping malls are...
Indeed 98 is ok too...
