Title: GTR1400 Neutron Grey : Which Exhaust?
Post by: badaboum on July 02, 2015, 10:55:42 AM
Guys

I am looking to change my pipe on a 2009 GTR Grey color

Besides from the sound, the look is important

I am strugling to know which one will fit the best he Grey GTR?

I would like to avoid Stainless Stell can as they are from my point of view pretty ugly

Any suggestion?

Hi badaboum,
Bought my 2008 GTR recently, and I have no objection and enjoy the sound of the standard pipe, but it really looks pig ugly (apologies to any handsome pigs out there) especially with panniers off.
As not wanting to spend too much, bought one of these from where I bought the bike:-

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Stainless-Steel-Stubby-Oval-350mm-Exhaust-Silencer-Slip-on-GTR1400-2007-2014-/281280679549?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item417da28e7d

Right money, nicely loud with removable dB killer, simple fit and lovely on the overrun!
The 350mm long one is just right me thinks.
Good luck choosing, it's a minefield out there!

Hey guys

Fast replies :-)

I am not a huge fan of stainless steel as I don't think it matches the brushed aluminium style of the bike.

snowr0 your bike and it's can are nice, but that's not what I am looking for

I beleive carbon fiber or titanium should be the best looking can, but I haven't seen that much photo with a grey GTR.

Beowolf looks nice but I don't like the attach ring that is needed ...

Look nice yeah
but same issue here, not a huge fan of the ring that hold the can..

I think only the REMUS and the AKRAPOVIC are ring less

no?

Two Brothers also do a Titanium. I liked mine but it was a PITA to remove and refit. Now have the Remus Hexacone and love it. Comes off in under a minute.

What about the AKRA?

Link pipes for the Akrapovic are generally not available over the shelf, so you would need to make your own as I did when I fitted this

The Akrapovic pipe is my favourite but expensive...but you get what you pay for

Hey

I took the AKRA yesterday

810€  / 200€ more than the Remus carbone

It seems that the AKRA is available as a slip-on for the GTR
