Title: Tyres - any experience of MAXXIS's?
Post by: snowy on June 28, 2015, 11:46:09 PM
Honeymoon period over, now really getting used to the GTR and trying to iron out issues. :scooter:
Problem- in traffic queues at low speeds, 5 - 15 mph and in corners when gently rolling round, especially with pillion, getting a wobble from the front end. Thought it may be disc, but no variance on braking, has to be the tyres! :undecided:
Wheel / tyre been balanced twice, but it's still there!
Dealer from where I bought it put new MAXXIS both ends when supplied, have these tyres on cars and seem OK, but various and mainly negative feedback on bikes.
Is the GTR too heavy for these? Anyone else had them and not happy?
Needless to say, with the F**K UP that the dealer made over the TPS (sorted after 3 visits and swaps) they're supplying and fitting a pair pf PR4 GT's this week, free for inconvenience, so really looking forward to testing with decent boots on!
Any thoughts out there?

OK, PR4's have transformed the bike!
Low speed straight line wobble - gone!   :cheesy:
Insecurity in corners as bars twitching.....gone!     :single fuck:
Lunatic grinning from ear to ear and can't wait till scrubbed in.......present and content!
Well happy, just waiting for the good lady to get over her op then real testing awaits!
Maxxis - may be cheap but just don't go there! I reckon they just ain't up to the job for the beast!
