Took a short pleasure Heli ride on sunday , what a great experience and thrill, highly recommend it for anyone who been thinking about it .
Perfect landing and you can see the pilot constantly working the stick .

I'm tempted to suggest a Chinook, but that wouldn't be very P.C :mfr_lol:

I've flown in Chinooks, a Huey, a Jet Ranger, and a Sea King.

Im 14stone 4 and they were iffy at me being in the front, said I was too heavy , WTF
I'm 27stone and 6'4". I think Charlie is lighter than me but is shorter. Pretty sure we are the forum "heavyweights" :punk:
I was lucky enough to get a trip in an RAF Puma about 10 years ago when I was a volunteer with the Air Cadets. It was a fantastic experience. I was sitting opposite the open door with only a lap belt and the flight was at times fast and low. Never to be forgotten.

Helicopters scare me. No way in :censored: I'd get in one. Actually refused a ride some years back on a medivac chopper that was taking a patient to the hospital from a car wreck. I was in EMS then.. Still don't like the bloody things.
Parachuted out of a Wessex a few times, and spent 2 hours at the controls flying around Norway mountains one winter. Used to use them on a regular basis, navy pilots would never let you down, if they said they would come and get you...they would, no matter what the conditions, the RAF on the other hand......... :help:
The RAF are OK, unless it is a Wednesday [ station sports] a Friday [poets day] or anytime at a weekend.
I was lucky to have a 2 hour flight around the Berlin Wall back in the early 80's in a AƩrospatiale Gazelle Attack helicopter.
It was an amazing time and got some lovely pictures of the wall from above.

One could always ask the USAF for some assistance. There's still a few bases left....dunno for how long though.
