as you've seen on a previous post,i've ordered a new black triumph thruxton,should be ready to to the change over next saturday,prior to doing the deal,i went to a few place's to see what they would offer,one had a 1 year old thruxton with less than 1,400 mile's on the clock,it was displayed at a little under a grand on a brand new one,although it did have a few nice extra's it was in terrible condition,was a pile of crap,all the nut's were fury,engine side casing's corroded,the spoke's were all rusty near the rim's,it looked oder than my 08 p/x.i expressed my concern's to the seller,his reply was that the owner never put a cloth to it & used it all winter,SHAME ON HIM !!!! i told the seller that it is not a good advert to have a 1 year bike in that condition sat on the forecourt,as it will put potential buyer's off even getting one.on the day i get mine home i will treat it to a little ACF50 applied on a cloth,i like to look after my bike's,the xjr cost me 4995 two & a half years ago,i was offered 4200 for it,the buyer never asked about service history,i offered to start the engine for him,his reply was,well you got here on it didn't you !!!! it's in very good condition for it's year,had a great deal,he was happy,so am i.i look forward to getting my new ride.
