Couldn't sleep this morning, so up at 5ish and off for 6. The weather was pretty gruesome but the Ipad App reckoned it might be dry in Portpatrick, Scotland so that's where I headed. Haven't been for a while, it's possible the last time I went could have been with Nigel on a trip home from Skye.
I have a favourite pub there, The Waterfront Hotel. It's simply a terrific location & the food is pretty good too, (isn't it Charlie?).
I took a few photos as I approached Portpatrick, I didn't take any earlier on route as it was so overcast and cold, I just wanted to get where I was going and get some lunch and a drink.
So here's a few pic's......

I loved the texture created by the stonework, (yeah I know, I'm weird!).

A few sea spray shots taken at Portpatrick Harbour.

Some random shot of a rope :whistling: (with the pub in the background).

A very patient looking Cocker Spaniel.

And finally, the pub and the bike. Exactly 442 mile round trip, I'm paying the price now though, I'm aching everywhere.

Excellent atmospheric pictures accompanying a good ride out Steve.
You're getting good at this picture taking lark aren't you
Class!
Worth the pain for those shots you captured!
Thanks for sharing!
So young Wolf you are pushing the average mileage up for your day out bimble then ?
I always reckon on a 400 mile day when in your company :mfr_lol:
Whilst motorway travel may not be everyone's cup of tea & even I find them tedious, they make journeys such as this possible in a day.
I'm getting old now, I may have to have a sleep over next time. :mfr_lol:
Steve .. You are clearly getting old as 442 miles on a K1600 shouldn't leave you with ANYTHING other than a smiley face ! "The Waterfront" .... That was a great location to stay after a long few days in the saddle. Nice piccies .. They really are coming along nicely. I can see what you'll be doing in retirement ! Very nice indeed .... All of them this time !!!!!!

Ditto Mr Wolf.
Pictures are pure class
That's very kind of you all to say the photos are good, I'm still striving for improvement though. I'm hoping someone will let me photograph their GTR tomorrow.

You could maybe try your hand at something Blue Steve ....if you'll pardon the phrase
Never mind about getting good photos of a GTR ... If you can master great photos of the Gs on a West Country back drop then I may just consider giving you a 10/10 ! :mfr_lol:
