Spent a very enjoyable (and comfortable) 1200 miles on the GTR earlier this week, riding up the east coast and in to Scotland.
The one thing that I think would have made the ride even more enjoyable would be a 'cruise control' function.
I have got one of thoose wrist rest gizmo's which helps but it would be nice to be able to take the right hand completely off the bars (briefly, of course).
Any of you guys come across a cruise control for the GTR yet??

Valerio. ;)
Laner, welcome along to the forum. There is a specific cruise control for the GTR, Winston Smith has one. Additionally if you have a look in the items for sale section, ROB T had one for sale, not sure if it actually sold or not but he did put his mobile number on the thread.
I dont want some film star controlling my bike. ::) Sorry. :-[
Google Murph's Kits in the US and they can supply an Audiovox CCS for about £100.00.
Relatively easy to fit (more to do with confidence and cable routing!)
Look at the links on there to the fitting by customers - choose one of them and follow step - by - step
Hello Laner and welcome to the forum .... up the east coast you say ? Where did you start from ? Any photos or stuff for the " Adventure " thread ? Tent or B+B ? Sounds great ... if the weather was good for you that is !
You could try these:
http://www.motorcyclecruise.co.uk/kawasaki%20gtr1400%20concours%20cruise%20control.html
They buy in from the states.
This next link is of someone who can fit the cruise control at your home address.

The other you could look at is:

No cables on the last one as it replaces the bar ends and is very easy to fit and use. I have one fitted.
Hope this helps ;D
Guys,
Excellent! Many thanks for all your responses, I shall be busy 'smurfing' the inter thing as soon as I've finished writing this.
Thanks for your interest in the trip Lord R. We (the Royal we that is) made our way across country to Ipswich for the first night's B & B (tents? I don't think so!!) Boston and Driffield followed, I know Driff isn't near the coast but my brother lives there so 2 nights free B & B. Whitley Bay via Newcastle and then Edinburgh ( I would pick the day of the Edinburgh marathon wouldn't I?)
Edinburgh to Langholm in the windiest conditions I think I've experienced and then a boring schlep down the motorway home - again windy but manageable.
Will have to chcek for photos.....
Thanks again for all the suggestions - very much appreciated.
Laner
After much cogitation and mind bending I've decided to go for the Throttlemeister and have ordered one from the States.
If anyone is interested I'll let you know how it performs once I receive it.
Regards,
Laner

I just fitted and calibrated the first option in your list, totally plug and play. A very well put together kit and instructions.
Dunno the RRP on that one, I purchased someones surplus brand new kit for £200 :P
