Are the people on the left hand side of the suspension settings thread suspension specialists, or are they people who have owned the bike? :-\

Interesting settings for the rear suspension.
I found on the 2010 version the rear suspension rather harsh and I was being bounced around far too much. I softened the rebound damping by about 1/4 of a turn which was just enough.

Interesting - I was thinking of playing with my suspension settings. Reading this I have a feeling I've turned my rear pre-load the wrong way to try and stiffen it up! Hmmm, will have to experiment later to see.

Anyone know how many clicks / turns each control takes max, for both preload and rebound damping?

Cheers,

Chris

If yer facing the front of the bike then turning the rear preload clockwise increases the preload. (stiffens)
I run 30 clicks in and #2 damping on the rear and have never fiddled with the front settings as they were perfect as supplied by my dealer.
Only reason I know the rear settings is that I measured them before changing them for 2-up riding as they were also setup for my weight by the dealer (John E. Vines, Rayleigh, Essex).
2-up I add 10 clicks and don't change the damping.

This is quite a harsh setting but I wanted a sportsbike that I can ride so the ride has an emphasis on Sports riding.
On bumpy roads yer arms and arse are gonna ache.
If anyone else rode it they'd get thrown off as I weigh 26 Stone.  ;D

When you say 30 clicks in, you mean 30 clockwise clicks then, from fully soft (i.e. fully anti-clockwise?)?

I wonder whether my dealer adjusted mine. It would seem odd, but mine only seemed to have 12 more clicks to go fully clockwise, I think. I need to check this though. At the moment perhaps it's actually too hard, as I really notice the bumps. I may need to have a play with the rebound too though.

I too thought the suspension was a bit "too bouncy" when I first got mine and turning the knob anti-clockwise 2 clicks did the job for me. I did the same with the front and it feels good now.

If you look on the top of the rear adjuster knob it tells you which way to turn for hard / soft. I ride at 20 clicks solo and 30 two up 30+ fully loaded. I too feel the front is adequate on factory settings.

Dunce Alert! Dunce Alert! :hammer:

Having bother reading the chart regarding the Front Preload and Rebound.
Preload (from all the way out) e.g. 15mm ????? Is that like unwind the adjust all the way out and then wind in 15mm?

then Rebound (clicks from all the way in 15 total) e.g. 6 click ????? so wind it all the way in and unwind out 6 clicks?

I see this is very old which is probably why, when I download the PDF file and open it, it's a blank page. Can you re post it please?
Thanks
