As an alternative to spending further funds on a new tank cover to mount the existing Bagster bag, local dealer offered me a cracking deal on an old stock Givi T480 tank bag and BF04 Kawasaki plate.
The Plate holes aligned.....but, as undoubtedly found before by others, the tank front cubby hole sits too near and high to allow bag to lock onto mount.
Easy me thinks, space it up a bit.....and a bit more.....and again.....OMFG, this is gonna look farcical to be a useable hight to allow the bag to clamp on?
I see that bags with locking plate are all over fleabay listed for GTR, but Givi does not list as a model to take the plate!.
Am I missing something here? Are there any good ideas out there to mount the BF04 and not look like a Heath Robinson contraption!
Or is it just mount it high and take off the bike when not using the bag to restore looks?
Any ideas appreciated, or is it just wait to see if a tank cover comes up or just pay the money! :undecided:
Stephen.Stallebrass On here posted photos of his raised tankbag with spacers see if you can search it or ask him.
Gave up on this! :hammer:
Really like the GIVI tank lock set up and bag quality, but as mine is a 2008, without loosing the tank pocket (isn't it just great for keeping connections for sat nav / phone and charger!) or fabricating an 18mm boss, best left alone.
If anyone out there has a surplus Baglux / Bagster / Top Sellerie cover in grey or black I'm interested so my original Bagster bag can be used. :ohplease:
