Title: Count down to Italy
Post by: shaggs147 on April 21, 2015, 09:56:33 PM
Yay! the time is drawing nearer for my trip to Sorrento, starting on the 10th of May until the 25th.
I guess I better get my  :asshole: in gear and plan a route  :mfr_lol:
Going to go through the tunnel, and fancy seeing a bit of Belgium, Germany including the Black Forest, and maybe a quick ride through a couple of tourist traps for a photo opportunity or two of the leaning tower etc etc.
On the way back I have been told that I have to experience Route Napoleon.
Feel free to chip in with any ideas and suggestions, open to all options  :biker3:

Mark

I'd say the San Boldo Pass is a must if you can. I've done the others and this looks far more fun....

BTW very jealous, just love Sorrento and the Amalfie coast - have a great trip :)

If you're travelling via Route Napoleon, a night in Castellane would break the journey nicely and allow you to sit at the cafes in the town square, which is almost constantly filled with arriving and departing riders doing the same.

Time permitting, you could also ride around the Gorge Du Verdon from Castellane.

Defo do the Gorges du Verdon....D61 is pretty good. Perhaps do it up and down as going down you just can't help looking at the view and stopping frequently for pics. You can see my topbox rack moving quite a bit due to having another bag on top !!
