Agreed, .......I'm not sure that blame has yet been apportioned
If this was being discussed in a pub, over coffee or in general chit chat conversation,
I would have said "hope they throw the book at the driver"
someone would have corrected me and said "if the car was at fault ! "
I would have said "well yes that goes without saying"
You lot are the ones making the assumptions, rather than just adding to the sentence to correct the way it reads.......
Anyway, he was from my neck of the woods, copper or not RIP
always very sad to hear of a young death of someone just serving our community . Training is very high so probably is a very rare incident .
heartbreaking for his family
Sad news indeed ... A young officer too. RIP.
Russ joined the unit just as I was retiring.
I did the papershift for his application.
He was very popular with the team and will be sadly missed.

I thought that emblem looked familiar. I've got one of their helmets.
They were a great force Jim
I'll put it out in memoriam for him...
I got it from a retired UK Police officer that collected helmets. He was a US citizen (born at Westover AFB in MA) but stayed in the UK after his dad retired from military service.
Thanks Jim.
My heart goes out to his family and all that knew him R.I.P
