Title: High wind
Post by: Kwikasfuki on May 23, 2011, 09:37:01 PM
Anyone else get caught in the high winds today? We had a van topple with the high winds on the Pennies today (M62), and guess who else was driving in the wind? Yes, your truly. Have to say the GTR did move a little, but it kept true. The signs came on saying "Strong winds - slow down 40", but like bugger I was going to do 40. At that speed is when the wind does grab you and really throws you around.

I've decided the faster you ride through high wind the more stable the bike.

On a side note, someone in a Bentley tried to race me. Boy are those cars fast. He was shocked that he couldn't pull away, and I was shocked how quick his car was. 570bhp

Mind you, had I opened my throttle fully I wouldn't be here. I've only ever opened the throttle fully once and had to hold on for dear life

The winds were probably my fault.
I was in Canada and had Onion Soup on the 22nd May.  ;D

What's wrong with full throttle? I open it up daily, just not in 1st and rarely in 2nd.

I opened the throttle fully in 2nd once. I had to hold on for dear life. The acceleration was awesome
Fortunately no brown pants
