Looking for a bit of advice. Have a hydraulic wood splitter that slowly drips oil between where two surfaces mate together. I was told it was the O-seals, but having replaced them I'm still getting the same issue.
What I'm thinking is to get some gasket sealant and put it around the perimeter of one of the surfaces, mate it with the other surface, let it cure and see if that solves the problem.
I'm thinking of something like this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/V-tech-Black-Silicone-Instant-Gasket/dp/B00442NWOQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1427065460&sr=8-2&keywords=gasket+sealant
Open to any other ideas, as I'm not sure if the gasket is the correct approach.
Any chance of a pic of the offending area Asif ?

Hope I'm not being simplistic, but how about a couple of fiber washers under the bolts in the picture.I've got a log splitter, looks different but the bolts are all fitted with washers.
Is that a cork seal Asif? I wouldn't think it would be though if it's under hydraulic pressure?
id certainly try the sealant , nothing to lose , ive just sealed my rear washer motor in the car with similar stuff , but if you have replaced the seal then it should be ok.
Just inspect the surfaces for a foreign body or some damage that could allow the oil to bypass, are the bolts tightening down ok, surfaces warped? did the seal misalign as you were tightening ?
maybe the pressure inside is getting too high , don't know anything about log splitters but is there anything to stop the pressure getting too high , bypass valve etc.
