Title: michelin pilot road 4gt's
Post by: tapps on March 21, 2015, 06:15:46 PM
i've had these on my gtr for about 4k mile's now.when i 1st pull away the front of the bike feel's as if i have a flat tyre on the front,it just doesn't feel right,i've often pulled over as it doesn't feel right.i've checked the tyre pressure's on a regular basis, running at 42 psi front & rear,i know there's nothing untoward wrong with the bike as it's just passed it's 1st mot.i'm thinking of having these binned & getting the pilot road 3's back on,i've no confidence with the pilot road 4gt's.

I've just had the 4's put on the K1600 yesterday, haven't done more than 5 miles on them yet but I'm planning a decent ride out tomorrow to scrub them in. I've previously used 3's so I'll have to see how I think they compare with each other. I'm expecting them to be better, but newer doesn't always mean 'improved'!

i managed to get 7500 on the 3's,thought i'd try the 4's,i noticed the strange as if running on a flat after around the 2,500/3,000 mile mark.there's plenty of tread left on the 4's,seem's a shame to bin them, but i'm not feeling confident with them.

Have you a photo of the front,?   I ran 15K over 2 1/2  sets with no problems last year, are you sure its not warped discs ?

there's no pulsing what so ever when applying the front brake,i looked at the tyre today & noticed the centre has squared off a little.is it a good idea to run a pr3 on the front & a pr4 on the rear.

Cant say, but shouldn't be a problem,,,,,,,

The problem i found with the 4s, when the front squared, bin they went, always changed in pairs but ended up going to T30s for summer.........less movement but rode steadier in the wet.

I don't suppose it could be the front brake partially seized on could it?
