Hi Guys,
My display shows a message that the pressure sensors have a low battery.
My mechanic told me that they need to be bought as a whole, nothing like a spare buttery to be exchanged when the tyre is off.
So disappointed.
Any recommendation how to get the message out of the display? The manual does not say much about it. I tried to look into the setting of the display but there is only switch of units.
Thanks.

It's easier to replace the batteries...
Cheers guys! How to replace the batteries? My mechanic told me it is not possible. Is it some kind of DIY job? many thanks :-)
Depends on the sensor. New ones, no. The older ones, yes. There are videos on the subject kicking around somewhere.
Tyre Pressure Sensor batteries can be changed as long as they are not the sealed type..

Hi Guys, my 1400GTR is 2010 version. Would I have the sealed ones? I read some other threads and am not clear on that. Could you please let me know?
Ho lizard, I have the 2010 model and mine weren't sealed. I replaced my batteries, its not a hard job as long as you can solder.
Ho? Meant hi! I must be getting down with the kids!
Cheers Shaggs. Do you need to re-program the GTR's computer or the TPs with the new battery connects automatically?
It'll connect and work automatically. You only need to re-program the bike if you fit a new sensor.

Hey, Thanks a lot for your advice. Would you mind me asking whether you got a standard battery (the CR2032) or something with the soldered contacts already? I'm just trying to replicate what someone has tried and it worked as I don't have a place to fit it in myself - if I can do it when the wheel is being changed in the tyre garage, that would be the best. Thanks again and safe riding :-)
The one with the solder tags is best to be honest. Soldering direct to the battery is a bit hit and miss as the solder doesn't take very well and you have to put that much heat on the battery it usually blows it. Get the ones with the tags, it will make the repair a lot quicker and easier.
These are the ones that I used but I bought them from a company, not ebay. This isn't a bad deal if you are in the States.

Thanks guys! I would like to fit in the angle valve stems. They sell some at Louis.de. Would this go well together with GTR and the TPS sensor?

Hello gents.
I've just fitted a new battery into a tyre sensor.checked voltage ,fine at 3.16v I when for a ride with the sensor in the tank storage compartment thinking that the bikes system would find it. After 15 mins it did not connect or register. Will these units only work in the tyre or can they be tested outside the rim.. .
This sensor was broken off by a tyre fitter but internals look good, i just swapped out broken stem and plastic. so this unit has not been on bike for nearly 2 years now, so only rear had sensor.
Has anybody got any ideas....Im thinking about taking them both out and just fitting plain valve stems
I am sure the sensor has to be under pressure to work.. Was the dash reading anything?
they defo wont work static in the glove C, I heard one of the yanks attaching the sensor to a piece of string and spinning it around to get a reading , he did this because he got mixed up which sensor was front or rear and this method allowed him to determine which was which
There's probably a joke hiding in there somewhere...
no reading at all. i was thinking that it would at least give a flat tyre warning to prove some sort of connection
Hello again gents.
Got it working.........I taped it to back wheel put bike on center stand started engine and put in 4 gear . Unit come up at 0 psi. If i had thought about it a bit harder i would of figured it would of had accelerometer in sensor so olny active when bike is in motion.
Cheers gents.
