Title: Versys 1000 LT
Post by: Debs on January 29, 2015, 09:48:39 AM
Baby has gone in to Bournemouth Kawasaki today for her 28000 mile service.

They have given me the new Versys to use for today.

It's quite a nice bike but I was put off in the first 1/2 mile by the lack of protection from the wind... Brrrrrr... Don't think I will ever have one of these.

On a more serious note.....why haven't you got any snow. Are you too posh down south to be inconvenienced by the slippery stuff?

It's coming down here like a gud un.

The Versy's has a decent looking exhaust but I don't like the colour or the flimsiness of it. What are the heated seats like, any good?  :whistling:

It's adjustable but they are like hand wheel fixings you undo and reposition  and there are 4 positions I think I was told when I asked at the show room

Well, I've been on it and I love it

BK lent it to me for 3 days, so I had a proper chance to explore it.  There's a full right up on Kawasaki Riders Club for those who are members.  Did about 200 miles altogether.  If and whenever the GTR gets a bit too lardy for me the new Versys 1000 will takes its place.

The screen does go up and down, by about 4 inches, manually, so you can't do it on the move.  3 way traction control really kicks in on the top level, but allows a bit of fun on the lowest settings

I would have one for the summer months as a play bike BUT winter has to be on the GTR

I don't think to many GTRs see they light of day in winter Debs. :whistling:     I'm surprised by your comment regarding the wind protection Debs.  I have never found that a problem with mine.  Did you have your woolly vest on?.  :mfr_lol:

Steve, I can confirm that the big Versys doesn't have heated seats.  The reason for that is, that unlike BMWs that have a shocking reputation for reliability.  The Versys has no such reputation, so has no need of heated seats to keep you warm whilst waiting for the AA.        Let the good times roll
