Hello,
I used to run a 90/140w bulb in the Bandit headlight. Anyone had any experience with uprated bulbs? (yes i know illegal)
don't want to melt anything.
thanks,
I use these Neil.

hello Debs,
are the bulbs standard H4
Hi Deb's,
are these the bright white bulbs or do they have the yellow tint of the standard bulb?
I'm looking for something to match the bright white of my side lights and marker led's

Not really noticed it Pete.
I put some Twenty 20 Daylight bulbs in my van.A great upgrade and a white light. Will be getting some for the bike soon.Got them from Autobulbsdirect.
I ran a 100/80W in my GTR1000. The socket melted.
Replaced the socket with a ceramic one.
Eventually replaced with an HID bi-xenon bulb.
That is the best bulb I've had.
On the 1400 I have Philips Nightbreakers.
Sigh, another "I want brighter lights" topic.
Every forum you go on, people want brighter and brighter (and more) lights. it's a war that nobody can win. There will always be somebody willing to run more wattage, more lights than you. Meanwhile as lights get brighter we can actually see less as the extreme brightness hides other road users in the glare and our eyes automatically shut down thier sensitivity via your pupils and squinting etc. to protect them. Night driving/riding has become more and more difficult and tiring just down to the amount of excessively bright lights. This includes all emergency vehicles and road works that have enough high intensity flashing lights that if they were on the six o'clock news would need preceding with a warning about flashing images.
Ahhhhhh, and relax ... that's better.
I have the ultimate answer to the light debate, and it goes on all around the world and every bike forum and pub chat, want to know?
Dont ride at night.
Simples.
Alan
:mfr_lol: thanks for helping me out on this issue Alan.
Whats the difference please between H4's and HB4's?
I thought the GTR was H4 but now confused :)
GTR/C14 is H4 (standard base). The HB4 has a 90 degree connector whereby the H4 is straight on. I don't see how they could interchange without some sort of an adapter, though.

thanks Jim - was confused by Deb's using the HB4 :)

The first link was the wrong one Pete. It should have been the H4. :whistling:
ah - that explains it - thought you had modified stuff again Deb's :)
That's the answer I was after
H4 bulbs 90/130w bulbs installed. no need to remove any fairing bits either. which is nice.
I would be very careful about using the pass button, i'm not 100% certain your main beam goes out when its depressed, but 220w may pop your fuse quite easily, just when you don't need it.
upgraded fuses to 25amp. (from 15) have been checking for melting etc and all is working well.
