Title: Paddock stands
Post by: nibs28 on January 05, 2015, 12:20:18 PM
Guys. Looking to purchase a set of paddock stands for my gtr. 1400 but I hear various things about not being able to use the rear stand due to the weight of the bike and that it may damage the drive shaft. Does anybody know if this is correct. Does anybody have paddock stands for the bike.

Many thanks
Ian

I once experimented with the ABBA stands but they didn't work so I'd avoid them.

Not sure why you would want one for the rear as theres a centre stand. I do have a stand for the front end that i use to lift the front up for tyre changes etc but that works fine with centre stand.

If you do a lowering link (like I did, 1" Muzzys) then you no longer have a center stand that works as it should without modification.

And.....as I just found out....unless the rear is on a paddock stand, lifting the front lifts the bike of its centre stand.....that was a close one !!
