Title: H2R at The Bike Show
Post by: Deepingdj on November 29, 2014, 05:55:03 PM
I went to the NEC yesterday to the motorbike show and was so impressed with the Kawasaki H2R.  I was at the Kawasaki Riders do in the evening and they fired it up and took it through the gears. IMO every bike should have an exhaust that spits flames like the H2R does, God was it loud and I can say I have never heard any bike sound so loud, now I have never been close to a moto gp bike so guess they are the same? Just pure exhaust porn to my eyes and ears, it even glowed red down the exit of the exhaust.

Well done Kawasaki for building such a beast, cannot see it getting through any noise test for track days even if you could afford one.  If apparently spins the rear wheel in fifth and the Japanese test rider backed out of a speed test at 231mph as he was in danger of taking off ( it's full of little wings on the body work) and yes it was still accelerating!

seems they are happy to do "demo" rides at the likes of GP and BSB meetings where there are no noise limits.  Now THAT would be interesting to compare lap times to a GP bike.

The KRC run up in the evening was the first time that the bike had been given full throttle up to the red line.  its now done over 50 miles!!

I went to watch the stages rally in the Lake District last weekend......

I know, what has that got to do with bikes?  :-p

Well, if I bought a H2, I would want it chirping like the rally car.....  In order to do that, your going to be going bloody quick.... And I would end up killing myself!

But it would still be fun,   :-)

Not me.  I would bloody kill myself on one of them.  I have very little self control with that kind of power.  One reason I'm completely satisfied with the C14.  It's all the power I need.

The tricky part escapes me....  I once drove a Camaro Z28 back in 1974 with 6-pack carbs...  Darn near killed myself on that one.  Bearing in mind that the car I was daily driving at the time was a 63 Ford Fairlane, 170ci, 2 speed transmission (slow and slower), and one two barrel carb....  I knows my limitations, Charlie.

If I was stupid, I would be selling my, C14, blade and Z750 for a H2.......

But I've grown up and I have a bike for every day (well nearly) and it wouldn't get used as much as I would like to think.... So unfortunately, I won't be ordering this one....  My 2011 Modified ZX10R was nice, but I didn't use it everyday.... So I only did 2100 miles in 2 years.... And that's agaist my beliefs - bikes are designed to be ridden..... They are not art!

ride it like it was stolen!

Neil

Ps.  The rally vid's were awesome!
