Title: Advice Please
Post by: vfrtom on November 18, 2014, 12:21:24 PM
My machine had not been started for about 4 months due to me being hospitalised. The battery is kept on a conditioner, so that will be ok. Any advice on what shouold be done before starting the engine. I am aware that the oil will have drained from the top end, and want to avoid any issues.

Just start it as normal but dont rev it for 30 seconds or so, let the oil get around, the oil light will go off quite quickly as usual.

Thats what i do when a bike has been laid up for a while.

Turn it over on the starter motor without letting it start until the oil light goes out then follow BigAlan's advice  :scooter:
