Gunpowder Plot - The Last Stand. Saturday the 8th of November.
We all know that Guy Fawkes was discovered beneath the Houses of Parliament in the early hours of the 5th of November 1605, but what happened to the rest of the conspirators.
Whilst Guy Fawkes was left behind to face his fate after his capture the rest of the gang fled, only to be tracked down and captured on the 8th of November. Some were killed in the ensuing battle and some were imprisoned and tortured.
We will visit the scene of this last stand where the original house still stands and still bears the scars of the battle with musket shot in the walls.

The Christmas Hospital Teddy Bear Run - Sunday the 7th of December. 10am
Our annual Teddy Bear to the Children's Casualty Unit at UHW Heath Hospital, Cardiff.
Meeting at Caerphilly Mountain Snack Bar before riding down to deliver the Bears to the hospital staff to be distributed to any child who finds themselves unlucky enough to be in the casualty unit just before Christmas.
Please bring a friend... A cuddly one is best!
The idea is to provide smaller Teds rather than big ones that might get in the way of any treatment that the child may need. A little friend for them to cwtch (that's Welsh for a bit of a cuddle) is ideal.
At the moment Ikea are selling soft toys from as little as 80p and they will donate €1 to a children's charity for everyone they sell. So a double win fr the kids!
The response last year was outstanding, as over a thousand Teds fond new homes and big thanks for that. Let's do it again.
