Title: Importing a GTR
Post by: cribby on November 05, 2014, 08:56:59 AM
Hi Guys.

Is it possible to buy an American spec GTR? Years ago, I bought a brand new US spec FJR through Wigan Superbikes, at a very good price and any warranty covered by the local dealer.

Is this possible with a Kawasaki?

I guess you could buy one from a US Dealer and arrange the shipment yourself. I thought about that myself.

You could try this company....

Once you arrange the import you will then have to pay import tax, VAT etc.
Your bike will then need to be type approved for use on UK roads by VOSA.
You will then have to register it as a UK vehicle.
After all this you will have to try and find an insurance company that will insure you!
