Title: DVLA - Licensing Issues - Copy Your License
Post by: PCPeteUK on September 16, 2014, 01:39:20 PM
Hi All,
Not trying to panic anyone but posted here so you are aware (most of you will be anyway).

I am just trying to get my license back as it was revoked by the DVLA when I was diagnosed with Sleep Aponea back at the end of May (god I miss riding my bike!!) Have my CPAP machine now and am waiting for the medical revocation to be lifted.

I have photocopied my original pink, paper license with it's entitlements and old endorsements (from 2000) clipped it to the application form and now sit with fingers crossed the new photo ID will retain them :)

I don't want to lose any as I regularly use trailers, a trike and hire 7.5 tonners every now and then for moving family/friends etc.

A mate of mine upgraded his paper license to the new credit card type and they removed his bike license, how many of us have the original pass bit of paper?

When i did mine i "lost" it and went for the new one, remembering where it was just in case they did the same to me.

Hi

I think keeping a copy is essential, maybe spend a few £ and get a solicitor to do a copy and sign confirming its a gen copy etc, I think a bank or post office may offer a service the same for less £

You can check what the DVLA think you have here
