Title: Hi from macclesfield
Post by: Cellerdweller on May 08, 2011, 10:14:44 AM
Hi all found this forum by accident and it would appear there's plenty of activity.
I've got a 2009 model which my wife and I use whenever we find a spot of spare time . Added a few bits and bobs to it just to personalise it.the bike has been superb for us and I love it, super comfy ,fast and reliable. My only problem is I'm not tall 5'8" and feel a little less confident when fully loaded when it comes to feet down . But other than that it's spot on .

Cellerdweller, thats an unusual and intriguing name. Welcome along, you'll find there is quite a strong Northern contingent of GTR owners not a million miles from where you live.   ;D

Good to have you onboard, if you get time to put some photos on of your GTR you'll find they will be warmly received. Its always good to have a look at what other owners have done to their rides.

Dont forget to keep coming back and catching up on the gossip, dare I mention it too, :-\ if you have a look in the Adventure section you will see an organised, (but not frumpy) GTR owners meet taking place in August in North Wales. You are very welcome to come along and bring your other half as well if they are up for it. I think so far there are about 20 of us going so it looks like it'll be a good event.

Hi Cellerdweller and welcome to the forum

I see you're at the other side of the Penines, right next to high peak. Must be a tonne of twisty roads near by, including the Cat and Fiddle. If height is a problem, try getting a lower seat. I'm not convinced on lowering links as they tend to change the geometry of the bike.

As LW has mentioned, there is an August meetup (http://www.gtr1400.co.uk/forums/index.php/topic,174.0.html) in North Wales if you're up for it.
