Hi All,
Can anyone reccomend a decent alarm and other security for the GTR? I know it has the standard imobiliser and a neat flashing red light, but think a more substantial bit of kit is needed.
Also, anyone reccomend a fitting place darn sarf or a good DIY kit?
Ta
Personal choice I know but I would avoid an alarm like the plaugue, nobody really take any notice of them these days. The Kipass is a Thatcham approved device wich is recognised by all insurance companies. If you want extra security get a Tracker, or Google 'Crystal Ball' which is even better than Tracker. I've had experience of locating stolen vehicles fitted with both systems and the Cyrstal Ball system was excellent, it even told me which street the vehicle was on rather than you having to go hunting for it.
Anything for an easy life. ;D
Much appreciated Lonewolf. Just gonna google crystal Ball now. :-)
F***@@@@@++++ How much! lololo I am sure the datatool "snitcher" can do a similar job for £100 lol
I stopped fitting alarms when insurance companies stopped making it compulsary - they aren't going to stop a bunch of !!!!!!!!!!ers putting the bike in the back of a van and making of with it.
If I left the bike in public places more often then I would fit a tracker but other than the odd Little Chef car park I'm either on the bike or its locked away in the garage
I never said it was a cheap system, ;D

Yep, its as easy as that! >:(
I have to say I looked at "Crystal Ball" but never got as far as the price ... save me trouble and tell me how much ???
Its about the £300 mark which I personally dont think is too bad. Beauty of it is that if your bike gets nicked, the system will tell you what time it moved, what time it stopped moving, which direction its heading in and where exactly it is.. and then you can go and get it back. ;D
I have to say I don't think £300 is too much for what is a state of the art bit of kit to safeguard your pride and joy ! Probably more suited to the bikes that are getting nicked everyday .. R1's and Fireblades etc ... can't imagine the GTR being top of anyones list thanks to the KIPASS and my bike goes from garage to work to secure car park to home again .. not really left out overnight on the streets type thing. I would certainly get one if I was into sports bikes .......
I'd like to see somebody try and lift a GTR that would be a laugh in itself!!

At my peak (a very long, long, long, long, long time ago) I could sumo dead lift 250kg which is on the light side for most lifters. So a couple of beefy chaps could lift the bike into a van.

There's enough clips of security footage on the internet of bikes being nicked to show it can be done.
I have seen first hand 4 guys carry >500kg that had nothing easy to grab hold off up a flight of stairs so a 300kg bike is easy
