I've had a look at the price online.there's a garmin 660lm Europe selling at £329.i'm always a little wary buying electrical items online.i've seen them on amazon.do you think they are legit.the prices do vary a lot. Depending on where you look.

The trouble with buying from Ebay or Amazon is that the item often does not come with any warranty.

Have a look at Global GPS (http://www.globalgps.co.uk)... they're usually the cheapest whenever I've searched and they're customer support/care seems pretty good.

Phone them up and haggle a little. When I was looking at the new 590LM, before I got my 660 replaced by Garmin, they were willing to throw in a set of TPMS for it.

I bought mine through Amazon, which was fine, and Garmin were excellent with replacement when my audio went wonky.

The trouble with buying from eBay... is that the item often does not come with any warranty.

That's not the whole story.

Quote from: Garmin Support FAQeBay offers online auction sales and Buy It Now sales. Buy It Now sales from legitimate stores on eBay, such as the Garmin eBay Store (http://stores.ebay.com/garmin), do offer the full Garmin product warranty.Products that are purchased from eBay auctions are not covered by Garmin warranty. A copy of the original sales receipt from the original retailer is required for warranty service. Online auction confirmations are not accepted for warranty verification and Garmin will not replace any missing components from any package purchased through an online auction.

Warranty of Garmin is also worldwide I guess ...  So you do not need the dealer for technical problems :contact local importer if needed
i once had to do with electr stuff I bought in anoter country .. No problem.
But with 95% no need of warranty...

good luck ;-)

Ps why not the newest 590?

Oh and Garmin were happy with a screen print of the Amazon transaction when I could not find the hard copy.

I use the Scala Rider FM and over two years, it has been excellent. The volume rises with speed etc. and even for someone like me it was easy to synch with my telephone and BMW Navigator 1V (Garmin 660 in BMW package).
