Title: Tyres….again
Post by: Ant on July 25, 2014, 02:53:07 PM
Anyone recommend some cheap tyres just to whizz to south of france and back on motorway,,,,,,got a chance of 4 days on the beach chillaxing in very cheap accommodation, so just want to get there and come back via some twisties over 3 days,

I won't get another 2k out the PR4s as they've squared off nicely now ( 6000m ) so just want to whack some cheapies on until T30s are put on next.     :surrender:

I wouldn't do cheapies, why not put some decent ones on and then refit your old ones when you get back to finish them off, ive just put my old pr3 back on as it still has 1500 on it

Hi Ant, how would you compare T30 and PS4: a) longevity, b) how they sit on a wet road. Cheers

Hi,

I Found less movement and better wear to be honest, but I did put on 190 / 55 instead of 190 / 50 to try.  No massive difference in the Wet compared to the PR4s, but i never push it to the limit in the wet anyway, can't see the point.
The PR4s are ok, but when they start to square off the wear is rapid, but do inspire confidence.
Im popping T30s on my FJR next time as I find they don't suit the FJR at high speed on the Tolls. No problems on the GTR.
