Title: TPS pairing
Post by: Ant on July 25, 2014, 02:46:42 PM
Before i book it in, is there the slightest possibility that a TPS that has already been paired with a bike will pick up on a different bike once fitted ?

Or is it defo back to a dealer for pairing......... :sweatdrop:

Dont take this as gospel as i copied it from another Kawasaki site. Changing battery is easy, never done a sensor myself.

NOTE: There are 3 models of sensor apparently. Each is identified by one of 3 colours on the outside of the box. Mine was blue. This colour is also visible on the base of the valve stem from the outside of the rim as 2 small paint spots so you don't need to take the tire off to see the colour.

I understand this colour matches the ECU program of the bike. If the sensor is replaced, it needs to be the same. I understand other colours can be used but they or the ECU have to be reprogrammed/re-paired sort of thing by a Kawasaki technician - no doubt costing even more money!

Its got to be paired to the ECU using the Kawasaki software  doesn't matter whether its been used before or brand new

What about,  I've just replaced by batteries in my TPS's.  If I was to put them back on the opposite wheel they came off would the bike know or would the dash be giving a rear wheel pressure on the front wheel display?
