Pam (my partner) hasn't been on the bike with me since Autumn last year, until today.
We left home around 830 to go to Bala Lake and were Autocom-less as the second lead was no where to be found. The roads were quiet and around 15 minutes into the journey whilst stopped at lights Pam told me she'd forgotten how much she loves travelling on the bike. She's a really good pillion and I never really know she there and the bike copes wonderfully with both of us on board.
We stopped for a cold drink at the Raven Café Truck Stop at Whitchurch and then headed towards Wrexham and then west through Llangollen and on to Bala.
I've not been up that way in ages (I used to live in Whitchurch) and couldn't believe the 40 and 50 mph speed limits that have appeared and also the growth of solid white lines on the A5. But hey ho - that's life.
Bala Lake was busy with boats and swimmers and after an early lunch with clouds gathering we set off for home.

Staying ahead of the clouds the temperature rose and that was a good excuse for a McFlurry at Whitchurch on the way home.

We made a detour off the A5 on the way home along the A5104 and over Horse-shoe Pass to Llangollen. The 5104 is a cracking road nothing less than NSL and some great bends.
Just over 180 miles and 2 smiling people at the end of the day.
