Beware! I have had an extended warranty with Warranty Direct for 3 years. This year they are very expensive and decided not to bother. However they sent me a new policy anyway and charged my credit card without permission. THIS IS THEFT and I will be reporting it to the police, never mind the FCA. I have never authorised a recurring card payment and the renewal letter invited me to renew, it did not say it will be renewed if I do nothing. They knew exactly what they had done when I rang them up and insisted they refund my credit card and that I would be reporting it to the police, the guy on the phone s**t himself when I told him I was a Financial services Compliance Director/ Just keep watch on your renewals please.
Good luck reporting that to the Police and actually getting a crime number.

That's a civil matter. The boy's in blue won't be interested at all.
I sent some goods out mail order to an address which later incurred a chargeback to our company, which is fraud, and a criminal matter, however I then had to drive to 3 police stations' to get someone interested enough to take a statement.
They didn't even bother going to the address. Your insured aren't you? was the main comment the police made.
You will probably find in the small print somewhere there is a "continuous authority" clause for payment by card, which they will use as a get out. It's wrong, but hey not much is right in the world come to think of it. :hammer:
Chris .. I hope you get your £ back but the others are right .. Somewhere in " the small print" that you signed there will be a continuous payment clause and it is clearly a civil matter not criminal
