Post by: nightrider on July 01, 2014, 06:14:14 PM
Just put on another Michelin p3 rear tyre ,as was well empressed with the last one ,which managed 6800m before it started to square off , still had 1500m left in it if had to , but as am going to austria in two weeks have now changed it , fantastic in the wet and great in the dry , the p4 is meant to be. Better still ,  :biker3:

Ref PR4 just fitted the gt version and I'm seriously impressed I've always been a bt023 man up to now, I chose the gt cause of the harder rubber on centre for straight line stuff 20% and 40% medium each side for the twisties only time will tell but at present

Ive just replaced my PR3 with a PR4 , the pr 3 still had about 1500 miles on it after doing 5000 miles, had to change because of our Austrian trip so thought id give the 4 a go, well after 2000 continental  miles the 4 is showing NO signs of squaring off , the 3 did shows signs at the same mileage..

Now im back to non slab miles im hoping the 4 will wear evenly, however being a frugle type of guy im going to put my pr3 back on , just to finish it off, I cant waste 1500 miles of tread, plus I want to see what its total miles comes out at.

Ive got a stack of old tyres with recorded mileage in the garden and one day will post a comparison photo of tyre v life .

Looks like PR4GT's for me next then as I still have the OEM on mine 3500 touring miles squaring off nicely :( Users do the best reviews :)

You have my sympathy.
I've heard that the BT-023s are better than the  :shit: BT-021s.

Got rid of my 021s on the trip to Spain and replaced them last week with PR4s.  What a revelation!  I knew they were bad, but even so I was considering having the suspenders set up professionally to try to get rid of the understeering.  No need now!.
Title: Rear Tyre

Just fitted a PR4 GT this is only my 3rd rear in about 13k miles and I'm sure I replaced the OE tyre a bit early...http://www.mytyres.co.uk/ (http://www.mytyres.co.uk/)

I like the fact that it now has a grove in centre to show wear.

Well my PR4s are about shot now after 5250 miles.
They are awesome in the wet and inspire a lot of confidence, but i don't rate them as a summer tyre....too much movement when the weather is hot and dry and tend to feather at the edges due to the amount of cuts in the tread.
I won't be putting them on again until Oct, Nov time.........

Viper.....mine were the same after our loop of France and i thought brill, but then i think it was riding these roads in the UK when we got back thats knocked em so quick.

Mine should be back today or tomorrow with a new set of Angel GT's, so I'll report on them in a week or two. Previous fit was Angel ST, little wear after  5,500 miles but squaring off noticeably, so thought I would have them changed. (Tread depths reported at last service some 1,500 miles ago as front 4.0mm, rear 4.5mm).

Went to Boston bike night tonight and only saw 1 GTR.  I did have a look at the Bridgestone T30 GT on a tyre stand and was informed that they are very good for heavy bikes, so i'll be putting them on shortly to try out.....bit pricey though

I replaced my PR3's recently with Angel Gt's after a spate of punctures. just done two thousand miles in Europe on them in all conditions. Great grip and no sign of wear yet. And no punctures yet!
