Title: SS1000 29/06/14
Post by: Zebedee on June 30, 2014, 10:41:26 AM
Well woke up at 0400 instead of the planned 0600 so made a start at 0500. The sun was just up so a little chilly, heated suit on at 25% toasty, fuelled and ready to go.
(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/30/4ude7y8u.jpg) Ride to first stop (Chieverley Services) accident on A11 debris all over the road, luckily no puncture picked up. (http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/30/asy5u8ym.jpg)
Second stop at Exeter Services making good time OMG they shut the motorway so detour required. (http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/30/epataja8.jpg)
Onto stop 3 Stafford Services and Lunch. WTF my 660 is having a spaz and speaking Dutch. Thankfully I have a 550 fitted as backup phew. (http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/30/emy2ahuv.jpg)
After lunch Scotland here we come. Annandale Water Services stop 4 opened tank bag on route for a mint and nearly lost all me receipts, will not be doing that again. (http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/30/pu4etyvy.jpg)
Quick blast upto Hamilton Services for a splash and dash, all but 1 pump empty AGH!!!! lucky me. (http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/30/ujy5yseh.jpg)
Now to Wetherby, my last fuel up till home. (http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/30/qesyguza.jpg)
All set heated suit on fuelled up gonna start getting dark soon, looks like rain in Lincs but I ain't suiting up this soon and my Wolf's should be fine.
Last fuel up and receipt collected, I did it, I did it, now to get it verified :)

Arr but you can change that clock on the bike.
With your phone you can timestamp and embed GPS coordinates,  time stamp would be taken from the GPS
Just thinking of the documentation aspect for the SS1000
You can of course edit Exif Tags if you really wanted.

I did my iron butt 1000 back in 2009,  I did it as a personal challenge and as it was organised by the royal british legion we all got sponsers and raised 24k.

we were given designated petrol stations to go to that covered the 4 corners of our route, we had to obtain a receipt from said location to prove our attendance , its impossible to do less than 1000 miles to visit all 4.

I really enjoyed the event, the companionship and spending so much time with the bike, id love to do it again, oh yes and I got a little badge!
