A quick blast this afternoon with the missus was an eventful one... We packed a few butties in my shiney new Givi E55 maxi box... Which to be honest, was a tad too big for 4 ham n cheese butties and a bottle of sprite.. But this new touring lark is a learning curve for me just now, so next time I'll get a long French stick. Anyway... We headed up into the hills on our usual route and approached the small village that we always pass through. There was a queue of traffic ahead of us crawling at walking pace, so I filtered CAREFULLY:) and jumped to the front of the queue. Then we realised why the traffic was at walking pace.. The population of the village was walking down the middle of the road behind a bag pipe band all clapping and holding there beers and glasses of wine in the air!!
So the idiot half of me thought... "You could get through this Dibz!!...piss easy on this beast!!"
Nope!!!..... The missus shouted through the Headset... "Where the f#*k are you gonna go!!!"
I'll tell ya where I went!!.... Slap bang in the middle of the trailing bunch.. All walking next too me, cheering and slapping my lid!!! Then all the spectators on the curb were taking pics thinking we were part of the fète!! I started to get in to it a bit then and waved back, telling the missus, they've all come out too see the new Top Box behind her, but the usual "you're a Tit!!" Comment followed, then the worst cramp hit me in my clutch hand from constantly starting and stopping the bike... If that wasn't enough, the heat between my legs was like blasting a hair dryer down me undies.
But eventually they peeled off into a field and left us alone in the middle of the road with me dangling my left arm in agony from the clutch and the wife asking me if it's cool to lift her head up now?
Typically the one day I didn't take my GoPro with me and we end up riding in a local fète
