Title: Rear suspension adjuster.
Post by: GTRpilot on June 22, 2014, 08:27:22 AM
How many clicks should you get to one complete turn of the adjuster? I saw someone on here puts 30+ clicks when 2 up with luggage.
So going 2 up yesterday,
Wound mine all the way in to soft setting, then tried to wind it on 30 clicks, got to about 25 and it stopped.

I think I've counted 28 clicks on mine but to be honest some times the clicks are inaudible and other times I think I imagine I heard a click when I haven't.
Perhaps just trial and error initially until you are comfortable with the settings might be the way to go, everyone's different in their preferences.

You should get 1 click every half turn.

I suggest you find the static sag of your bike and adjust the preload to maintain that height whether you are solo add luggage or have a pillion. The preload should be on soft and the bike alone on its tyres. I find 12 clicks satisfactory for approx. 12 stone rider add 4 clicks for 4 stone pannier luggage maybe another 10 for a pillion. I think the manual suggests the damping at one and a quarter turn out on a two and a half adjuster - I found mine was nearer three turns out so at one and a half there was a significant improvement. My front end is standard to the manual and a cable tie on a fork leg will confirm you have at least 10mm clear without bottoming out.
